Hylens Berners was born out a true love of the Bernese Mountain Dog and a desire to provide you with a loyal companion, while maintaining the highest standards of the Bernese breed. Our goal is to produce sound, good-natured Bernese Mountain Dogs with an emphasis on health and longevity.
We
researched many different dog breeds after our beloved
Rottweiler  succumbed
to bloat. We knew we wanted a breed that would be child
and neighbor-friendly because at the time, we had a
3 month old and a 4 year old and we were also moving
into a new neighborhood. My husband and I always came
back to the Bernese Mountain Dog. The
Berner possesses a
gentleness, loyalty, and undeniable beauty.
We feel it was fate that we were introduced to
a Bernese Mountain dog breeder on the
morning we picked up our pet's ashes. It was almost
as though she was telling us it was the right breed
for us and it was okay to move on.
A few weeks later, we went to see the litter of newly born Berner puppies. And so our love affair with the Berner began. Bailey has been with us for 5 years and she is the most loving, gentle, affectionate creature we have ever known. A stranger once said to me, "Once you own a Bernese Mountain Dog, you will want to own more." He was right on target. We can't imagine owning any breed except a Bernese Mountain Dog, which is why we kept Bailey's first born female, Kona.
We are not a traditional Bernese Mountain Dog Breeder. All of our Berners are family pets. They are a part of our family's daily life, whether that's playing outside with our children or just laying around the house. All of our dogs and the other Bernese used in our breeding program have hip clearances from either PennHip or OFA. We take every measure possible to ensure that our breeding dogs are healthy and free from hereditary disorders.
We strive to produce quality Bernese
Mountain Dog puppies that will be  valued
members of your family. We offer an extensive health
guarantee against genetic diseases/disorders. All of
Hylens Bernese puppies are raised right in our own home
and socialized with our children. When the puppies are
ready, they become the center of our neighborhood's
attention. By exposing all of our puppies to a variety
of children, adults and different sounds, we can provide
you with a puppy that is well balanced and will adjust
easily to their new homes. We go the extra mile to ensure
that all of our Bernese puppies are healthy,
happy, and placed in loving families.
